Vermilion's Annual Gardeners Fair takes place Saturday, April 17, from 9 am to 3 pm at Sailorway Middle School, 5355 Sailorway Drive.

You will enjoy a variety of speakers and exhibitors who will be selling everything from plants to unique planters and one-of-kind garden tools and garden art.

Suggested donation is $2.  Children are free.

Sponsored by Vermilion In Bloom.  VIB is a volunteer organization dedicated to "Planting pride in our Community."

This beautification program has been building excitement in Vermilion by encouraging landscaping in commercial and residential areas.  Vermilion In Bloom volunteers plant and maintain flowers, plants and trees throughout the Vermilion area.  The organization also offers gardening workshops throughout the year to educate area residents and businesses on the art of landscape beautification.

Shop for flowers, plants, miniature plants and flowers, herbs, dried wreaths, unique garden items, handmade wood planters and trellises, tropical flowers, landscaping services, original art, handmade jewelry and more.

For a $20 donation to Vermilion in Bloom, you can choose a numbered garden glove that corresponds to a “mystery gift” valued at $20 or more.

The Gardeners Fair is hosted by the Sailorway Junior Beta Club who will be selling healthy lunch items. Kim Duda is the group’s advisor.

All money raised will support Vermilion in Bloom, a program of Main Street Vermilion.  You’ll be doing good while having a good time at the VIB Gardeners Fair.

Vermilion In Bloom’s Objectives

• To improve the visual appeal of Vermilion neighborhoods, parks, open spaces and streets through the imaginative use of flowers, plants and trees.
  

• To encourage involvement and co-ordinated action by citizens of all ages, the City of Vermilion, local organizations and businesses.
  

• To emphasize environmental awareness and preservation of heritage and culture as key parts of the program.
