Avast ya' scurvy dogs an' landlubbers alike! Batten down ye' hatches as The Great Lakes Pirate Fest navigates it's way to Vermilion fer' family fun on Lake Erie.  This here event is free to crewmembers both young an' old. Salty dogs will be learnin' ye' importance of one of ye' earth's greatest forces...The Great Lakes...while having fun in true pirate fashion.

The Great Lakes Pirate Fest takes place annually in Vermilion Ohio.

Dress Like a Pirate to win prizes in the Pirate Costume Contest.  Prizes will be awarded to kids and adults.  Print the Pirate Fest Coloring Contest form online at GreatLakesPirateFest.com and submit completed artwork at the Fest to win prizes.  A Treasure Hunt form is also available online.  Search for treasure in Vermilion with the Great Lakes Treasure Hunt.  Submit your entry at the festival for a chance to win prizes.

Live music at the Pirate Fest with a variety of bands.  Join the Pirate Parade.  Pirates young and old are invited to march.  Capt'n Willie and his pirate ship will lead the parade.

The Capt'n Willie show takes place directly after the march.  Don't miss Capt'n Willie, the Great Lakes Pirate, in a fantastic show of music, dancing, props, audience participation and more.  Young and old are invited to "Get Silly with Capt'n Willie".

Additional entertainment includes magic shows, caricature artists, face painting, balloon art and more.

Coloring Contest and Pirate Costume Contest Award Ceremony begins after the entertainment lineup.

Learn about boating safety, the Vermilion River and Lake Erie through educational materials and hands-on exhibits.
