Each year in August the Vermilion Port Authority hosts the Annual Duck Dash 500 on the Vermilion River.  Proceeds from the race go towards the Water Tower restoration and Port Authority projects.

Here is all you need to do to join the fun:

• First, adopt a duck for $5 each or a "Quack Pack" of 6 for $25.
  

• Show up at the Vermilion River bridge or McGarvey's landing and watch as your duck is dumped into the river and races towards the finish line.
  

• The first place winner is awarded $1000, Second Place is awarded $500 and third is awarded, $250.
  

Fun, food and fetstivities starting at 6:30 pm at McGarvey's Landing.

Start time is at 6:30 pm.

Tickets available at participating merchants and marinas throughout Vermilion.
